March 22, 2021

Dear Parents/Guardians:

Hello and Happy Spring!! :)  I wanted to send you a quick update and a list of important dates to come.  We are super excited to still be in person learning, and we THANK YOU for continuing to be diligent in monitoring your child’s health and symptoms.

Important Dates:

End of Marking Period 3: Friday, March 26.

All report cards will be accessible through Sapphire by Wednesday, April 7, 2021. If you are unable to access Sapphire, please contact Mrs. Brady at extension 1851 for a printed copy.

Change in Wednesday schedule:

Wednesday April 7: FULL DAY. No early dismissal.

Wednesday May 12: FULL DAY. No early dismissal.

PSSA for GRADES 3, 4, and 5: Testing will take place during the mornings of the dates listed below.  Additionally, make-up days will be scheduled on an as needed basis.

PSSA Language Arts for Grades 3, 4 and 5: April 27, 28, 29

PSSA Math for Grades 3, 4, and 5:  May 4, 5

PSSA Science for Grade 4 only:  May 6

Pennsylvania has extended the testing window to allow for flexibility in scheduling; however, Penns Manor has selected to go forward with Spring testing.  We also understand that some students may have to quarantine during these testing periods, and we will make those adjustments should that happen.

All students in grades 3, 4, and 5 are required to take the PSSA exams this year, including all students currently attending through google classroom.  Google classroom students should plan to attend school on the dates listed above.  Should additional accommodations need to be made, please contact Mrs. Prebish at 724-254-2666, ext. 1740. More information from the federal and state mandates can be found at https://www.education.pa.gov.   We will send out another reminder letter closer to testing time, but we wanted to give you enough notice should you need to make any schedule changes.
