🚒❤️ PreK Celebrates Fire Safety Week with Pine Township Volunteers ❤️🚒
🔥👩🚒 The Penns Manor PreK classrooms were filled with bright smiles and excitement as we celebrated Fire Safety Week with our favorite local heroes from the Pine Township Volunteer Fire Company!
📚 In anticipation of the big day, our students spent the week learning all about fire safety, and Captain Amy Muir was deeply impressed by how much our little learners already knew! Captain Amy, along with her dedicated crew - Kacy Crowley and Nate Gill - led an engaging and heartwarming presentation titled “Firefighters Are Our Friends.” ❤️
👨🚒 The children watched with wide eyes as Captain Amy walked us through the process of dressing Firefighter Kacy and Nate in their full turnout gear. She reminded the children that underneath the heavy suits and masks are their friends, Kacy and Nate, ready to help in an emergency. Once they were fully dressed, the room filled with high-fives and warm hugs! 🙌🤗
🧥 The children even got to step into a firefighter's shoes—literally! They took turns trying on the oversized coats and pants, marveling at how heavy they felt. While the oxygen tanks and masks seemed a bit intimidating at first, the fear quickly turned to giggles, especially when they got to top it all off with the iconic firefighter helmets! 😊
🚒 To bring the perfect day to a close, the crew surprised the students with a tour of their fire truck! The children’s faces lit up as they climbed inside and sat in the cabin. The highlights of the day included watching the flashing lights dance across the parking lot 🚨 and hearing the thrilling echo of the siren! 📣
🎁❤️ In the spirit of giving back, our PreK families and teachers came together to donate a wonderful assortment of items to the crew to show our appreciation for all they do. Thank you to our amazing community for helping us show these local heroes how much their dedication means to us!

🌟Fifth Grade Field Trip to Fort Ligonier 🌟
Our fifth graders had an unforgettable experience during their field trip to Fort Ligonier! In addition to a guided tour of the museum (where they viewed fascinating artifacts like a 250-year-old apple 🍎 and the pistols once gifted to George Washington), students explored the historic fort itself. They met General Forbes and had the unique opportunity to interact with British grenadiers. The grenadiers taught the students how to properly stand at attention, march in formation, and hold a musket like a true soldier. It was a fun, hands-on journey into history that brought the 18th century to life! Thank you to all who made this trip possible!

Our students had the absolute best time stepping into the shoes of real farmers. We explored the beautiful crops, checked out the massive tractors, and visited all of our favorite farm friends—including the pigs, horses, and cows! The absolute highlight of the day was getting up close and hand-feeding the sweet cows. 🐮❤️

🍏 Ten Apples Up on Top! 🍏
Our Pre-K friends had the best time bringing one of our favorite stories to life! After reading "Ten Apples Up on Top!" - we put our rote counting to the test and tried a hands-on balancing challenge of our own.
Instead of apples, we used bean bags and foam rings to see if we could make it all the way to 10 up on top!
This fun activity was packed with big learning moments. Our little learners practiced:
• 1:1 Correspondence: Touching and counting each item carefully.
• Balance & Control: Moving slowly to keep their towers steady.
• Teamwork & Cooperation: Cheering each other on and working together to reach the top!
We might not have matched the characters in the book perfectly, but we definitely giggled just as much. Ask your little one how many "apples" they balanced!

From Caterpillars to Butterflies: A Hands-On Life Cycle Adventure 🦋
Our third grade scientists have been busy exploring the amazing life cycle of butterflies! As part of our science learning, students had the opportunity to bring in caterpillars and milkweed to help us observe the life cycle up close.
Throughout our study, students learned about metamorphosis and the four stages of a butterfly’s life cycle: egg, caterpillar (larva), chrysalis (pupa), and adult butterfly. They watched with excitement as their caterpillars grew, formed chrysalises, and eventually emerged as beautiful butterflies!
This hands-on experience allowed students to see firsthand how living things grow and change over time. We carefully observed our caterpillars and butterflies, discussed their different life stages, and learned how each stage is an important part of the butterfly’s life cycle.
Our classroom was filled with excitement as we successfully hatched and released more than 25 butterflies! 🦋 Students were thrilled to watch their butterflies take their first flights and return to nature.
What an incredible way for our third grade scientists to experience science in action! We are so proud of the curiosity, care, and excitement our students showed throughout this amazing learning experience.

We had a bear-y special rescue mission in Pre-K! 🐻
After reading the classic favorite "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?", our little learners put on their brave rescue hats. A group of colorful bears found themselves floating in a giant tub of water, and it was up to us to save them!
Using only their trusty spoons as rescue tools, our students worked hard on their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination to scoop the bears to safety. Once the bears were dry, the real mission began: sorting our colorful friends into their matching homes to practice our color recognition.
